Think Wikipedia rules? Think WordPress has done a good job of becoming “a personal aesthetic semantic publishing platform” or whatever it is they pitch it as?

You ain’t seen nothin yet. Get ready to meet the grandaddy of all publishing platforms – Revolution Health Pages. If you aren’t familiar with Revolution’s site, they are a health content publisher (think webmd.com) with shiny new bells and whistles.

The sad part is, this is the coolest feature of the entire site, yet all the mainstream tech blogs completely failed to mention it.

Without further ado – Pages is a feature that allows the site’s users to build and publish web pages for any health topic using a rich library of widgets. The goal, then, is to empower users to publish content for tail terms like “autism in San Diego”. For an example Revolution page, see here.

Pages are built using one of two ways: clipping pre-existing widgets on other pages OR adding a widget from out-of-box widgets such as a photo upload and video upload widget.

Okay, so here is an example of how modules can be clipped:

I can’t tell you how excited I am. I almost jumped for joy when I saw this note come in on my Crackberry. I mean, I get meaningless commercials thrown in my face everyday, but this one really spoke to me. BabyCenter has announced a bonanza diaper bag sale for Father’s Day!
